Life Assurance and Health Insurance
Whether you want to protect your family in the event of your demise, or whether you want to make sure your partner can pay off your mortgage if you are no longer around, or whether you want to mitigate Inheritance Tax in Spain, you will need to take out a policy, which will pay out in Spain.

If you have existing policies in the UK, you need to ensure that they will pay out if you do not live in the UK. I am sure a lot will, but it will give you peace of mind to make sure.

I can arrange life cover in both euros and sterling, from as little as €150 per annum.

Please contact me for a review of your existing arrangements, and a quotation if appropriate.

The recent announcement by the Valencian Health Authority, that it is withdrawing health cover for ex-pats, who are under retirement age and not paying into the Spanish Social Security system, means that it people will have to pay for their treatment. People on holiday will still be covered by E111, as will pensioners who live here permanently. If you work here or are self-employed and pay monthly social security, your partner gets automatic cover. Likewise, if one of you is retired and the other is below retirement age, you will also be covered.

Since I added this section, there has been a partial retraction of the above, and other options are now under consideration, such as allowing people under retirement age to make some form of contribution on a monthly basis. I have heard a figure of approximately €60 per month mentioned, but this is not a definite agreement.

Now is a good time to consider Private Medical Insurance, as the cost of some medicines is very high compared to the UK
